How paky.io prices a load
The calculator is not a look-up table. Six figures go into every number on this page, and they are the same six the platform prices a booking with.
Line-haul rate
1,15 € per kilometre for a full truck, scaled by the share of the deck a load occupies, and multiplied by 1,22 for refrigerated cargo.
Sharing a truck
33 pallet spaces on one curtain-sider, so a part load pays for the space it takes rather than the whole vehicle. Door to door the deck moves at 62 km/h, and 9 h is a driver's legal day.
Road distance
Straight-line distance between the two cities multiplied by 1,25 — a standing figure for how much road detours add, not a routed itinerary.
Tolls
Charged per country at that country's rate for a 40 t truck, applied to 75 % of the distance rather than all of it, because local stretches are free of charge.
Margin of error
Every price carries a band of ± 18 %. It is the width of what the model cannot see, not a negotiating range.
Platform fee
Added on top of the carrier's price, never carved out of it: 5 % up to 500 €, 3 % to 1.500 €, 2 % and above, floored at 12 € and capped at 150 €.

What this model gets wrong
- It cannot see availability. How many carriers happen to have space on your lane that week moves a real price more than any figure here.
- Distance is estimated from city coordinates, not routed. A load from a town the motorway skips will be longer than the number shown.
- Tolls use a per-country rate for a 40 t vehicle, not an operator tariff. Exempt classes, tunnels and alpine regimes each price differently.
- The 120 € minimum carrier payout overrides distance on short hops, so several load sizes on the same lane can land on one price.
- Toll rates were last checked against published tariffs on 2026-07-27. A tariff that changes in between makes our figure stale until it is updated.
Who pays what
One fee, from one side. That is the whole commercial model, and it is why a carrier's price on the platform is the price they keep.

Freight pricing questions
How is the price of a pallet calculated?
Road distance is multiplied by a per-kilometre rate for a 40 t truck, then scaled to the share of the deck your load occupies. Tolls and any urgency compensation sit inside the carrier's payout, and the platform fee is added on top. Every one of those steps is shown in the breakdown under the price.
Why does my price not change when I add pallets?
On a short lane the carrier's minimum payout prices the run before distance does — a truck and a driver are committed either way. Above the floor, extra pallets mostly fill space the vehicle was already moving, so the total rises far more slowly than the count.
Is this a quote?
No. It is the platform's modelled price for the load you described. A quote comes from a named carrier who has seen the cargo, the access and the timing, and has accepted the liability for them — which is what you get when you send the lane to our carriers.
What is included in the price and what is extra?
Line-haul, tolls on the tolled share of the route and any urgency compensation are inside. Waiting and detention time, access surcharges for restricted cities, tail-lifts and escort vehicles are agreed with the carrier, because they depend on the load rather than the lane.
Why do the tolls look different on a German route?
Tolls are charged per country at that country's rate for a 40 t vehicle, and Germany's rate carries a CO₂ component that makes it the highest in the region. We apply the rate to the share of the distance we expect to be tolled rather than to all of it, which is why the figure is lower than a full-distance calculation would give.
Can I ship something that is not palletled?
The capacity model is built on EUR-pallet spaces, so the calculator prices palletled freight. Full trailers, over-sized and escorted loads are matched on the platform too — describe them in the note when you request offers and carriers price what you actually have.
